Reorganizing My Bookshelves | 2016

For some time now I have been wanting to reorganize me bookshelves. I liked the way m books were set before but it didn’t really work for me. I’m more happy with how they look now. (I even have pictures now! Woho!)

Located on the left of me TV stands this bookshelf, which contained books I’ve already read: 1st shelf; Favorite books/series I’ve read, 2nd shelf; Books I liked a lot and with different heights, 3rd shelf; Contemporary and Various books I like, 4th shelf; Books with different formats and books that didn’t fit anywhere else, 5th shelf; Poetry and books & magazines on writing. And there’s also some non-bookish items there as well.

On the right side of the TV I have another one of the same bookshelves. This one contained books I have not yet read: 1st shelf; books I want to read ASAP, 2nd shelf; Books I want to read soonish, 3rd shelf; mass market paperbacks, 4th shelf; Hardbacks and mostly swedish books, 5th shelf; Classics and books I want to listen to as audio books. And also some non-bookish items here as well.

When I first organized the bookshelves as shown above, I liked it because somehow it made sense at the time. But just before I reorganized I couldn’t make any sense at all, so I knew it was time for a change.

This is how it looks now:

So, the bookshelf on the left still has the read books, but in a different order that makes so much more sense. 1st and 2nd shelves have series that are finished and that I’ve completed, the 3rd have series I’ve started but haven’t finished or the series aren’t complete, 4th shelf has a little bit of continuation from the previous shelf to the left, and the rest is stand-alone’s, on the last shelf I have graphic novels, poetry, and various other books that didn’t fit anywhere else, and to the left is a continuation on stand-alone’s.

On the right side I still have unread books but also here in a totally different order. On the first shelf I have squeals to series I have started and need to get to soon, the second has series I have several books of but haven’t started, third shelf contains first books in series I want to start, the fourth shelf contains stand-alone’s and the last shelf still has the classics and books I want to listen to as audio books.

That’s it for this post. I hope you liked it and I hope to see you next time. Take Care 🙂

Reading Habits | Tag | 2016

Saw this tag and thought I might share a few things about my reading habits.

  1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading? My bed, for sure. I hardly read anywhere else.
  2. Bookmark or random piece of paper? Bookmark. Sometimes Post-it’s I’ve made to bookmarks years ago.
  3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages? I can just stop reading, but I prefer stopping after a chapter is over.
  4. Do you eat or drink while reading?  No, never.
  5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading? Preferably none of them. I prefer not to multitask while reading.
  6. One book at a time or several at once? One at a time for sure. I have tried the several at once thing, but no, that isn’t for me.
  7. Reading at home or everywhere? Everywhere, just give me something to sit on and a book and I can read.
  8. Reading out lout or silently in your head? In my head mostly, but if it’s a part I have a hard time reading or taking in, I read out loud to myself (or rather whisper).
  9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages? Sometimes, depending on the story and writing style.
  10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new? Keeping it like new if it’s a new or used but new looking book, otherwise I really don’t care.
  11. Do you write in your books? No. I haven’t done so far I probably not gonna (but never say never, right?)

  1. When do you find yourself reading? Morning, afternoon, evening, whenever you get the chance or all the time? Whenever I can.
  2. What is your best setting to read in? My bedroom, in my bed without any excess noise around me.
  3. What do you do first – Read or Watch? Read.
  4. What form do you prefer? Audiobook, E-book or physical book? Physical books.
  5. Do you have a unique habit when you read? Not that I know of.
  6. Do book series have to match? YES!

Want To Read in April | 2016

There must be something wrong with me. This is the third time this year I’m doing a ”TBR” for the upcoming month. But I like it quite a bit now that I have a blog. Before starting this blog I never did any kind of monthly TBR because I’m a mood reader, but I think I might be continuing with this and see what I really think about it.

So, last month I read (almost) only mysteries (and quite a few children’s books as well), I think I’m getting out of the mystery/thriller mood at this point. I have no idea what my mood will be for next month, but I think I feel like reading dystopian or something like that again. I have a few books I’m going to try this month, if it’s not what I want I might change this entire list during the month but either way, here are the books I’m going to try.

  • Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
  • Partials by Dan Wells
  • Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson
  • In the Afterlight by Alexandra Bracken

I might even pick up

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
  • Storm Front by Jim Butcher

I also have a few children’s books from the library I need to get to this month, these are:

  • Mischievous Meg by Astrid Lindgren (in Swedish)
  • Lotta on Troublemaker Street by Astrid Lindgren (in Swedish) (already finished this one)

I think that’s it for this post. I might read something totally different, but this is what I want to read during next month, at this moment at least.

Take care 🙂
